“In the highest heaven, glory to God! And on earth, peace among people of good will!” (Luke 2:14, CJB).
Our prayers go out on behalf of families who have lost loved ones to gun violence in the mass shootings of Aurora, CO, Columbine, Virginia Tech and the epidemic shootings on the streets of Chicago and across the world.
May we, as citizens of the United States of America, work for reasonable gun control measures that both honor the spirit of the 2nd Ammendment AND keep our citizens safe from artillery meant for war zones.
May we end our appetitie for and consumption of media violence on TV, in video games, in music, music videos and theaters.
May we work to make our homes and domiciles safe places for men, women and children–free of the power and control that fuels domestic violence.
May we shift the the culture of violence in our world to a culture of peace, and love, and goodwill toward all.
May the peace of God fill our hearts and rest upon us all, as we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace.
